Overview

Treatment of severe periodontitis is seldom straightforward. It requires teamwork, motivation, and clinical skills but most importantly it requires a patient-tailored approach. In this patient case-based webinar, we will focus on several treatment modalities, from behavioural change to complex surgical intervention. The interplay between dentists and dental hygienists will be highlighted in detail and the remedies for saving teeth will be thoroughly discussed.

About the speaker

Aleksandar Milosavljevic is a periodontologist with a position as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Odontology, Malmö University. His special interests lie in the realms of clinical decision-making with a focus on periodontology but also in developing modern, interactive, and tech-based pedagogical approaches in his role as a teacher. He defended his thesis in 2018 with the title “Periodontal Treatment Strategies in General Dentistry” which he also received two awards for. Since 2022 he has been a licensed specialist in Periodontology in Sweden treating patients with severe periodontitis and periimplantitis but also performing rehabilitative treatment in terms of implant installations and bone augmentation.
